The congressional elections coming up in November have garnered National attention, but not everyone is getting into the spirit of democracy. When some students were asked if they knew what elections were coming up and when, the responses were varied.
FSU Junior and International Business major Louis Mozzano, from Middletown, MD, who could be seen standing on top of a table in the middle of the FSU Campus exclaiming something incoherent about the Western Maryland Food Bank, said that he didn't know anything about an upcoming election. Mr. Mozzano categorized himself as a "registered non-voter."
From Myersville, PA, Ed Custer of the Undeclared course of study, knew of the upcoming election in November, but seemed slightly more interested and knowledgeable about the California vote to legalize recreational marijuana.
Freshman Bronte Billy was the only student who seemed to have any real knowledge or interest in the elections. Bronte is a Baltimore City resident and a Biology major at FSU. When asked about the forthcoming elections, she professed that she did know of the elections and that she had registered as a Democratic voter. "This will be my first election," Bronte stated, as she claimed she would be voting in November.
