Record Scorcher in Los Angeles

At 12 pm, on September 27, 2010, the National Weather service reported the L.A. California temperature at 113 degrees farenheit. This temperature is the hottest ever recorded for the city since the record keeping began in 1877. People described it as being so hot "you could see the heat rising from the freeway." Also firefighters had to put out brushfires due to the heat. The high temperature is interesting because the L.A.scorcher came after a week of all time daily low temperatures. After the temperature was recorded the thermometer broke. Therefore, it will never be known if the temperature was higher. However, many residents will argue that the temperature was definately hotter than 113 degrees.
