Apple's New TV Box Causes a stir among Television Network

On September 1, 2010 Steve Jobs introduced the revamped Apple TV, which is a box that can be hooked to a regular television (similar to a cable box). The box enables viewers to get rentals of television shows for .99 cents/per show. In some cases he shows are more expensive.

Many Networks are debating whether or not they should join Apple because such a device gives Apple power over their television shows, without showing commercials, and for a fraction of the price that the companies would receive if the buyers bought DVD's of the seasons of the television shows. Currently, Disney, BBC America, and ABC are involved. However, networks such as CBS and NBC currently refuse to participate.
